Today was a great and productive day for work and good fun was had texting with my team at work. I met a ton of new customers today which is always rewarding. Then after work I came back to my airbnb and the struggle became so real.
After drinking my pre-workout and waiting the appropriate time, I pushed play and started my workout.
This is right before the final set of the 3rd round of Day 35. I was literally fighting back vomiting. But I finished after a 30 second pause. I wanted to quit but Autumn Calabrese had just said, “hit pause but DONT QUIT” so how could I quit?!
I love this program because I push myself harder than I have ever pushed myself. I lift heavier each week and try harder each day to do more than I did yesterday. I am 42 years old and in the best shape of my life. I still have a LONG way to go but I believe that by the end of these 80 days, I’m going to be the bombshell I’ve always wanted to be. The biggest motivator for me is that for the first time ever, in my life, I’m doing this for my. Both my parents have diabetes from obesity. When I started out with Beachbody in Jan 2017, I was at my heaviest outside of pregnancy. I’m 25 pounds lighter today but sooo many inches smaller and 10 times stronger. Most of that has come in the last 35 days. I wake up in gratitude everyday for the healthier choices that come so easy to me now. Cravings are GONE! I cant wait to post my 40 pictures.
I ate very clean today but am still struggling with digestions issues. They are getting better but traveling takes its toll on me. I have to get that part figured out.
Now to finish my favorite movie Lord of the Rings, get some work done and then get to bed.
I mentioned yesterday that I was in New Mexico and that I had rented an airbnb for the first time in a while. What I didn’t mention was that the house I’m staying in was built in 1930 and that it was originally a Harley Davidson Motorcycle Club House. I grew up around Harley’s. My late uncle was a biker for my entire life. He took me for my first ride at 6 years old. I rode for much of my life until too many people I knew died or were severely injured on motorcycles. Then it just became no fun because I allowed my fear to take over. Anyhow, back to how cool this house is, there are tons of originals and even burn marks still in the wood floors from motorcycle burnouts. I find the history of this place remarkable and its one of the things I love about airbnb. You just never know what kind of jewel you’re going to fine. Today this place is a quaint house with some very modern features like a nice kitchen I can cook in.
As for my workout, I almost talked myself out of it today. I’m still suffering from digestion problems thanks to eating chocolate….how sad does that sentence make you? It makes me terribly sad. But I got it done and did really well actually. Cardio is my least favorite workout. But I’m so glad its done and day 33 of 80 is complete. Next up….Wednesday!!! Half way through the week already!
Hi everyone! So sorry for the gap in posts. I needed a weekend of rest and recovery (but I did do my workouts and then some). I’ve got some fun things in the works that will be revealed in the coming weeks.
Friday was a busy day of seeing doctors (chiro and eye) and getting ready for my trip that I’m on this week. Saturday I spent the day with my fella being a couch potato except for my workout and cooking an amazing goulash dinner with cauliflower in lieu of potatoes. Sunday was baking and cooking up things for Tyler for the week and then spending time with our friend and her girls outdoors getting some fresh air. Good times. And much needed.
As for my workout program and nutrition, I’ve been committed to my workouts and getting them done everyday. Even Sunday, my rest day, we were outside and did a mini incline of 200 steps that go up at a 40º angle (ouch my legs and lungs). Food has been on point except I had some dark chocolate over the weekend and my digestion in paying today for it.
Today I drove to Albuquerque, NM and didn’t have the best food options in the car. They weren’t unhealthy per se, but they were lacking in vital nutrients. But I did have all my weights and workout equipment in my car and hit up Whole Foods before coming to the airbnb I rented.
I cooked up some nutrient packed stir-fry with tons of veggies for dinner after my workout and will hope that tomorrow brings ease to my digestion.
This blog is kind of all over the place. Tomorrow will be more structured. I hope you all had a great Monday.
Today was leg day! And leg day with already sore legs is brutal. I’m absolutely loving this program though just for the challenges. I’m 31 days in and it feels like I just started a brand new program. Thats what’s so great about it….all the changes in routine. Nothing is ever the same and my muscles just can’t keep up. My body is changing so much. At day 40 I’ll post some before and afters.
As for nutrition, like I’ve shared, I’m not really doing the meal plan that comes with the program because its just too much food. But I am portioning my food and sticking to a meal plan (meaning I plan what I’ll be having for all of my meals and I don’t deviate). This is a game changer for me.
I haven’t slept well the past couple of nights. So I’m outta here to get some good sleep hopefully.

OK – I’m going to make this short and sweet today.
My day consisted of getting up and going to Denver to work and getting my bangs trimmed and then coming home to do more work on the computer and then it was workout time.
My workout today was total body core and I have to tell you guys I hurt everywhere since this new phase started. This workout program challenges me more than anything I’ve ever done and I love it but I hate it. So my legs hurt so bad and tomorrow is leg day. I am so scared!! Ha!
Below are just 2of the 12 exercises I did today.
Nutrition was good. Light breakfast of a couple of slices of toast of this amazing homemade bread recipe that I found on the Against All Grain website, leftover spaghetti squash bake for a late lunch and leftover corned beef, cabbage and parsnip/turnip puree. All foods today fit into the SCD foods list. Digestion has improved some this week.

Up until a few months ago, I was attempting to build a team actively coaching for BeachBody. Its quite a rewarding job and I really wanted to help people. However, with my travels and my busyness opening a coffeehouse, I found network marketing to be too much of a time consumption for me so I ended my coaching business. That doesn’t mean I don’t still love the programs and do them. The 80 Day program I am currently doing is changing my life!!! And I couldn’t be more enthusiastic. I LOVE motivating people, educating people and praising their progress. I find that talking about this program in my blogs and having them posted on social media has generated some motivation for my friends which has been incredible for my to witness. It took me so long to get to a point in my life where health and nutrition as well as fitness took a high enough level of importance that I find an great level of gratitude for people in my life to find motivation from me. I’m telling you this because I can still help if you’re looking for it. I am still an active coach, I just haven’t been actively working the business.
On another note, my workout today was a brand new cardio workout that was actually super fun. It was hard as hell, don’t let me mislead you, but one of the most fun cardio workouts I recall doing. Everything was different from anything I’d ever done and went by very fast. And I enjoyed that it went quickly. Nutrition was good. Light but good and my digestion is still improving. I’ve added L-glutamine as well as collagen, probiotics and changed my diet to start excluding many of the items that the Specific Carbohydrate Diet “illegal foods” list. Baby steps.

OK time to check in. Yesterday was my rest day and since I wrote about leaky gut I opted not to post my current stats. So here you go:
26 days in I’ve lost 2.4 lbs and 8.25″. Now, as much as I wish the scale had a bigger number, I cannot be dissatisfied with that inches lost number. Especially since I was on the road traveling for 17 of those 26 days. That’s pretty damn good results.
Today started phase two. Here is the shocker for me. Yesterday, when I did my stats and entered all the information for this phase, it told me I am supposed to eat MORE! People…I couldn’t even eat all the food for phase one and now I’m supposed to eat 200 calories more. Well, lets just say that that ain’t happening. I am happy to eat plenty and get my nutrition but my body works like this: When I’m working out and fueling my body properly, I don’t have cravings or want to eat a lot. That’s just how I am. When I’m complacent and lazy is when I eat a ton. It may sound backward and maybe its from years of eating out of boredom or to heal emotions but when all my gears are working well and properly, I eat food when I need it and ONLY when I need it. What’s your diet like when you exercise?
For food today I kept it very simple. Grain free pancakes this morning, homemade grain free fruit bar for lunch and salmon, cooked greens and sautéed butternut squash for dinner. No snacking except for a couple of sultanas after dinner. When I eat light like that, it makes me feel much better. And due to me trying to get my gut health right, I’ve cut out all my shakes except the post workout protein which I may also exclude if after a week I’m not seeing the improvement I’m looking for. I’ve really been digging making all my food from scratch. Why not try making my own post workout protein, too, if need be. Any good suggestions?
And finally my workout was insane in the membrane. It was all about that booty and man did she make it hurt. Here are a couple of shots of what it was like. If you choose to laugh at my look of bewilderment I understand. The first day of a brand new workout is a bit confusing but even I will laugh at my facial expressions.
